love scrolling through the Dollar Tree and finding items to get creative with. My Dollar Tree is a Dollar Tree Plus so they have a variety of items that are $3.00 and $5.00. I found the cutest wooden tray for $5.00 a while back in my Dollar Tree Plus and I want to give it a makeover.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. One wooden tray from my Dollar Tree Plus

2. One sheet of peel and stick wallpaper from Dollar Tree

3. Hot glue

4. Small nails and hammer

5. X-acto knife

6. Walnut Gel Stain by DecoArt

7. Two 5 gallon paint sticks

8. Paint brush

You’ll need to cut the 5 gallon paint sticks so that they fit across the tray. I used a small hand saw to cut the sticks.

Once I had the paint sticks cut I then painted them and the wooden tray with the Walnut colored gel stain by DecoArt.

I did not paint the center of the wooden tray because I’ll be covering it with the wallpaper.

You’ll want to line the wallpaper up at one end and then work your way down to the other end.

I used the x-acto knife to trim the excess wallpaper off.

I glued the paint sticks onto the bottom as shown in photo above.

I decided to add some small nails to help secure the paint sticks in place.

I added some foam and Spanish moss to the inside bottom area of the tray.

I added some greenery and flower sprigs. This can easily be changed out from season to season.

This was so easy to make and will look great any where in your home. I hope you’ll get creative and give this a try.
