We are always crafting here at The Shabby Tree and we seem to create a lot with wooden shims. Spring and Easter is just right around the corner and you can create easy rustic looking carrots with wooden shims.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Wooden shims

2. Hot glue

3. Orange paint

4. Gel stain

5. Paint brush

6. Greenery (I purchased my greenery from Hobby Lobby)

7. Raffia

You can create these rustic carrots with any size wooden shims. I get my wooden shims from Home Depot and Walmart.

I will be using 4 shims for one carrot. You will want to glue the shims together with the thicker ends together.

I glued two shims together and then I glued 2 small pieces of my greenery onto the shim.

I want my greenery glued in the center of the carrot. Once the greenery was glued in place I then glued on another shim.

Once I had all 4 shims glued in place I then painted my carrot.

I am using a spiced pumpkin colored paint and a walnut colored gel stain.

I tied some raffia to the top part of the carrot.

These are so easy to make and will be a great spring decoration to add to your home.

I purchased the greenery from Hobby Lobby.
