I recently went grocery shopping and for some reason the aluminum foil caught my eye. We have never used aluminum foil for any of our crafts and I thought it would be fun to give it a try. I have a few different ideas for using it but the first item I want to make is a simple ornament.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Aluminum foil

2. Hot glue

3. Gingerbread man cookie cutter (optional)

4. Mod podge

5. Paint brush

6. Cinnamon

7. Brown paint

8. Ribbon

9. Small canvas that measures 5x7in ( you can use cardboard)

10. Scissors

The first step is to draw an image onto the canvas. I am tracing a cookie cutter but you can draw anything that you want.

The next step is to trace your image with hot glue.

The hot glue will create a raised image.

Once the hot glue is dry you will want to completely cover the canvas with mod podge.

Once you have the canvas covered with the mod podge you will then add a sheet of the aluminum foil over the canvas.

You want to be sure to press the aluminum foil onto the canvas. I used my fingers to press the aluminum foil flat to the canvas.

I used mod podge on the back side to secure the ends of the aluminum foil onto the canvas.

I used the brown paint to cover the inside area of the gingerbread man.
I sprinkled cinnamon all over the brown paint while it was still wet.
I added mod podge over the paint and cinnamon.
You can sprinkle more cinnamon if you would like.
I used hot glue to attach ribbon to the top for a hanger.
This is very easy to make and can be made into all different images. I hope you will get creative and give this a try.
