I was shopping in Home Depot and I happened to find a large round piece of wood. This piece of wood is 17 and a half inches wide which will work perfect for creating a tray. I knew as soon as I saw it that I had to buy a few. This piece of wood can be used for so many different things but I want to first create a fun decorative tray with it.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. One round piece of wood from Home Depot measuring 17.75” wide.

2. Paint brush

3. Sanding sponge

3. Two metal knobs from Hobby Lobby

4. Four screws

5. Drill

6. Round boho stencil from Hobby Lobby

7. Minwax gel stain (walnut color)

8. Cream chalk paint

9. Smooth small paint roller

The first step is to remove the sticker from the wood. I had to do a little sanding where the sticker was.

I then covered the whole piece of wood with the gel stain. You can paint it on and use a rag to wipe the excess off.

I then placed the stencil over the wood.

I found it way easier to use a smooth roller on the stencil rather then a brush or sponge.

Be sure to completely cover the stencil with your paint. I am using a cream chalk paint.

You will lift the stencil once you have it completely covered with the paint.

I sprayed a few coats of polyurethane over the stencil.

I then screwed on the handles.

I realized my screwed were to big so I had to pull out smaller ones.

I screwed a handle to each side of the board.

This was so quick and easy to create and it turned out amazing. You can get so creative with this and make it any color or use any type of stencil. I hope you will all get creative and give this a try.
