Summer is here and I always love adding flowers throughout my home. We are always creating fun and unique items here at The Shabby Tree and I wanted a fun way to hang a few artificial flowers in my home. I found a way to create a quick and easy container that can be hung almost any where in your home.

The supplies I will be using are:

1. Ten paint stir sticks (mine are 12 inches)

2. Scissors

3. Paint brush

4. Tan nautical rope from the Dollar Tree

5. Glue gun

6. Stain

7. One 8×10 framed canvas from the Dollar Tree

8. Two 8×10 flat board canvases from the Dollar Tree

The first step is to remove the canvas from the framed canvas.

I then removed the top wooden piece.

The next step is to glue one of the flat board canvases to the frame.

Once the canvas is glued to the frame I then glued on a piece of the nautical rope. The nautical rope will be the hanger for the container.

Be sure to add a lot of hot glue so that the nautical rope will stay secured in place.

You will want to glue the second flat board canvas to the front of the frame. I placed one of the paint sticks onto the canvas and marked where the paint stick curved inward. This is where I will cut the canvas. I want to cut the canvas shorter on the front side so that you will see through the the slits when the paints sticks are glued on.

I cut my canvas about 1 and half inches down from the top.

I then glued the canvas to the top of the frame. The next step is to glue a paint stick to each side of the frame.

Once the paint sticks are glued to the sides you will then glue the remaining paint sticks to the front side.

Once all the paint sticks are glued in place you will then stain or paint your container.

This hanging container is so easy to make and you can add any type of artificial flowers to it.

I hope you will all get creative and give this a try.
