Okay Fall is here and we are all about creating fun and unique items here at The Shabby Tree. I love adding a variety of pumpkins throughout my home for Fall. We can easily turn round placemats into a fun pumpkin but I will be using Americana Decor Texture by DecoArt to give it a unique look.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. Round placemats (I purchased these from HomeGoods)
2. Americana decor texture by DecoArt (color silver)
3. Mandala stencil by DecoArt
4. Paint brush
5. Hot glue
6. Scissors
7. Poly-fil stuffing
8. Ribbon and bling embellishment
9. Tree limb for stem
10. One zip tie
I secured the stencil in place over the placemat using duct tape.
I am using a paint paint brush and I will be applying a thick coat over the stencil.
You can scrape the excess texture off of the stencil after you remove the stencil from the placemat.
Once you have the stencil removed you will want to let the texture dry.
I am creating a pumpkin so I will be glueing two placemats together and adding a poly-fil.
You will want to glue your stem in place before glueing the placemats together.
Once your stem is in place you will continue glueing the sides of the placemats together.
Add the poly-fil to the center and then glue your opening shut.
I used some ribbon to create a quick and simple bow.
You can pin an embellishment onto the bow and then glue the bow onto the pumpkin.
This pumpkin is so easy to make and I just love how the texture gave it a fun and unique look. Texture is an amazing product by DecoArt and it can be used so many different ways.
