I was recently shopping and looking at a variety of pillow covers. You will find so many different pillow covers in the stores right now. As I was looking at them I realized that they would be so easy to turn into a purse.
The supplies I will be using are:
1. One pillow cover (mine is 18”x18” )
2. Extra large eyelet kit (I got mine from Hobby Lobby)
3. Scissors
4. Hammer
5. Jute Rope
This purse is much easier to make when the zipper is along the seam of the pillow cover.
The first step is to cut a hole into the pillow cover. You want to make your hole about 2 inches down from the zipper.
You want the flat ring side to be on the good side of the pillow cover.
You will want to place the flat side of the eyelet onto the flat tool part.
You will want to place the flat eyelet piece with the teeth over the longer eyelet.
You will take the other long tool piece and place it onto the eyelet.
You will hammer the tool which will attach the eyelets together.
You will do the same process to three more holes. Be sure to have all your holes evenly spaced.
You will use the jute rope to create the straps to your purse. I tied knots at the end of the rope. Be sure to have your knots tied on the inside of the pillow case.
I used two pieces of jute rope to create two straps on the purse.
You will have the eyelets and the tools in the eyelet kit.
This purse is so easy to create and I hope you will give it a try.
