I recently went to Target and found a few fun items in their dollar spot. One item I picked up was a wooden crate for $5.00. This wooden crate can be used for so many things but I thought it would be fun to attach a message board.

The supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. One wooden crate from the Target dollar spot

2. One pizza pan from the Dollar Tree

3. Hot glue

4. E6000 glue

5. Americana Chalkboard paint by DecoArt

6. Paint brush

7. Chalk pen

8. Rust-oleum 2x Black Flat spray paint

You will attach the legs to the bottom of the crate and then use the black flat spray paint.

Be sure to have the spray paint with primer in it. The primer will help to prevent the paint from scratching off of the pizza pan. You can add a polyurethane spray over the paint to help prevent it from scratching.

You will spray paint both the crate and the pizza pan with the spray paint.

You will want to paint the center of the pizza pan with the chalkboard paint.

Once the crate and pizza pan are both dry you will want to attach the pizza pan the crate. I will be using hot glue and E6000 glue together. You can add a small screw or nail to attach the pizza pan if that will be easier.

You will want to give the E6000 glue a good 24hours to dry. I used a chalk pen to write a message.

This turned out so cute and can be changed out for all different seasons and holidays. You can do this to any type of box or container that you might have. I hope you will get creative and give this fun idea a try.
