Ok I was in the Target dollar spot and came across a few plastic jars. I’m thinking ahead and this jar can be easily turned into a bunny head.

You can find this jar in the Target dollar spot.

Some other supplies that I’ll be using are:

1. One plastic jar from the Target dollar spot

2. Rust-oleum spray paint ( color warm caramel)

3. Polyurethane spray

4. Cinnamon

5. Cardboard

6. Recycled can good ( any size you want to use for a hat)

7. Chalky finish paint by DecoArt ( colors black, pink and white)

8. Scissors

9. Paint brush

10. Hot glue

11. Rust colored felt

12. Fabric

13. Oak colored gel stain by DecoArt

The first step is to spray paint the jar and lid as shown in photo above.

The next step is to trace your can onto a piece of cardboard. I’m using a 40 ounce recycled can.

I went around the circle and made marks about 1.5 inches from the line.

You will then cut along your marks giving you a round piece of cardboard. This will be the bottom part of your hat.

I traced the circle onto two pieces of fabric and then cut them out.

You’ll want to cut a strip of fabric to fit around the can.

You’ll glue the round pieces of fabric to both sides of the cardboard.

Once you have the cardboard covered you’ll then glue the fabric around the can.

I also cut a small round piece of fabric to glue to the top of the can as shown in the photo above.

You’ll want to glue the two pieces together to form your hat.

I added some of the oak colored gel stain over the entire jar and lid.

I put that aside to dry and I cut the ears out of the felt.

I cut two pieces of felt for each ear and glued them together.

I added some of the pink chalky finish paint to the center of each ear.

The next step is to paint on the face. I’m not a very good painter so I did my best.

Once I had the face painted I added the polyurethane spray and cinnamon.

I sprayed on the polyurethane and then sprinkled on the cinnamon. I used my fingers to rub in the cinnamon.

I ripped some strips of the fabric to create a small bow.

I glued the bow to lid but be sure to have the lid screwed onto the head when glueing it on. This will allow you to make sure that the bow will be glued to the front.

You can add some battery operated lights or a candle to have the bunny head light up at night.

This was very easy to make and there are so many different ways that you can change it up.

You can add this bunny head to a spool or a candle ring. You can find the directions on how to make the spool down below.

I hope you’ll get creative and give this bunny head a try.
